Taking a Break

Hello friends.

Welcome Mum.

This is just a quick post today. Through May and part of June I will be doing some exam invigilation and on top of helping with my mum, gala stuff (sooooooo much to do) and of course looking after my family and home I've decided to take a short break from blogging. I will however keep up with what you're all getting up to.

Thank you for following and we will catch up in a few weeks

Pompoms and Fowers

Hello friends

Is it windy where you are? It is here.

I've just finished these two blankets for my toddler nephew and baby niece. They're in that Pompom yarn. They are finished off with some hairy, eyelashy type yarn. I've two little hats to make now for my baby niece. Will show and tell when finished.

And what about these flowers?

I was asked to make these by a lady at the Thursday craft club. She thought they were crocheted (turned out to be knitted) and is going to attach them to a baby cardigan she has knitted.
They are a bit fiddly, as they  are small, but so easy to make. I might make some more and add them to the baby hats. They will be so cute.

I need to get my bag ready for craft club and meeting my mum.

Thanks for dropping by it was nice to see you again, have a nice day.

Spring Fest With Mum

Hello friends

I'm linking with Mum here for her Spring Fest.

I've borrowed a seat from Woodland Waters caravan park at Ancaster, Lincs. I love the rustic way it's been made.

I've brought a table decoration. Please help yourself. I made one similar for my nephews 18th birthday last year.

I've done some baking for the cake stall. Some scones, suitable for vegans and those that are lactose intolerant.
How about some flapjacks, also suitable for vegans and lactose intolerant. Last year I won first prize, with this recipe, at the local flower and craft show.

Some crockery. The teacup and plate are L's picked up from a charity shop. She loves to drink from a china cup and saucer. The cat teapot I bought about 30 years ago (oh my lord was it really that long ago). The jug with the garden flowers in, is very old. It belong to my auntie and was part of a set and I think this is all that's now left. I just love the shape of it. The flower, except the daffs, are from our garden.

How about some bunting. I made this to decorate our summer house last year when we renovated it. L named the summer house Spring Cottage so we made the spring wreath hanging in the background with fluffy yarn and clusters of ribbon flowers a felt sun and a cotton wool cloud. I also made the pictures from felt.
I'm looking forward to meeting up with other bloggers and visiting their stalls. Thank you Mum for organising such a wonderful day. Hic, had some of Janes cocktails.

Declutter and Catch Up

Hello friends

Been a nice day again although still a bit cold.

I didn't do any decluttering during April I've been too busy with costume making, flower making and helping to look after mum. My mum deteriorates a little more each month.

I've not been out to spend any money either so that's not too bad.

Do you want to see the dress I've made for L as part of her Prince charming costume?

The lace I used has this gorgeous edge to it so I incorporated into the hem and the waist. I'm really pleased with the way the dress has turned out because I had to alter the original pattern to fit in with the lace. I do love this lace.
I'm in the process of making the jacket which is much more complicated and I'm about half way through it. When the jacket is finished L and I will decide whether or not to put some net under the dress to make it stand out a bit.
I'm looking forward to joining Mum at "Mum's Simple Living" for her Spring Fest on Monday. Hoping the weather stays fine and we can have it outside.

That's all my news for now and I hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

Thanks for dropping by.
