So far this week we've been prom shopping and eventually we found what Laura was looking for but that's to be a separate post. Laura has been painting stones and pots, but you will have to wait and see what all that was about. And we've had a couple of evening walks on the beach. I was lovely and relaxing away from all the exam stress. I like it when the tide is further in and you can sit and listen to gentle waves against the stones.
I've even done a bit of gardening too.
We've been baking scones again and some profiteroles this time. There was so many bun that the extra went in the freezer for another day.
Tomorrow is the start of our gala season at Poulton-Le-Fylde so tonight we rebuild the float and make any necessary repairs after the sides being stored over winter. Then Sunday Laura has been invited to present the trophies at our local Gala Horse Show and then next Sunday (changed this year from Saturday to Sunday) is our gala, Thornton Cleveleys, where Laura will be uncrowned and the new queen, Ashley, will be crowned.
Hope the weather stays nice for you all for the rest of the week.

I love the painted pots, I have a few terracotta pots that would look better painted. The trouble is that I only think about it after they are planted up.
ReplyDeleteThe painted pots are for a competition starting Monday so more to be revealed. The best time to paint the plant pots would be winter time. We use acrylic paints, Don't know if other paints should be used though.

Don't these years go round fast - gala time again. I remember going to Thornton gala each year when I was little and winning little goldfish. I've been in my fair share of the parades as well as a Rose Queen and also in fancy dress. The gala is still going strong. Have an enjoyable time.

They sure do. The crowning and fair are on Jubilee Gardens in Cleveleys. The sports centre had some renovations done and the car park wasn't big enough and the field wasn't suitable so it all moved and no goldfish either. I was the church Rose Queen too.

I love that serene picture of the beach. The weather here in southern Germany is quite fickle as always, but I believe there is beauty in all weather. Have a great Monday!
